I read about this contest some time ago, but in the meanwhile the page with the simple rules seems to have been removed from their homepage. Therefore I have rewritten the rules from the print I made. Thanks to PASS and Jay Decker.

Please let me know if the rules are still on the PASS homepage so I can link to them instead.

This is a man-on-man  competition where the best pilots are rewarded with lots of flying time and glory of being the best. The rules are simple, two pilots simultanously launch side-by-side and last one on the ground wins the match. The overall winner is determined by dual elimination of the other pilots. For the weenies who need to know all the detailed rules, here you go:

  • Winch line length 200 meters (max) and expect it to be shortened by the CD if the air is good
  • Max flight time when the flight time of a match exceeds 10 minutes, the pilots will land within 1 minute and launch again. The max flight time for semifinal and final matches will be 15 minutes. If its a good day you better bring you smart charger - you'll be flying a lot.
  • Pilot initial positions in the dual elimination progresion tree will be assigned by lottery. Everyone will have at least three opportunities to fly through a consolation bracket.
  • Pilots are Assigned a winch for each match.
  • Landing task the nose of the plane must land on the field. Your plane can be upside down and broke in half but as long as the nose is on the field it is a valid landing.
  • No sandbagging when you're called, get moving. Once you and your opponent are ready at the winches the match timer will give the command launch and you will both launch simultanously. Both pilots are to release their planes within 10 seconds.
  • Pop offs one per match. Doesn't matter if it's you or you opponent. If it happens again, fly it out. Launch equipment failures excepted.
  • Line breaks one for the contest.
  • You can fly whatever you want and switch planes between matches.
  • Protests any weenie who wishes to protest can talk to the CD, the weenie is expresly forbidden to talk to the opponent or flight group timer.
  • Thermal sensors, varios etc. are allowed, provided that they do not interfere with the contest in any way
